Another Bailout for Farmers? Experts Say No Way!

Farmers are hurting badly. Their markets have been cut off, equipment and supply prices are prohibitively expensive, there is a labor shortage and the weather in some areas has not been cooperative. While we can’t do anything about the weather, the other items are a direct result of the Trump administration’s tariff and immigration policies. In other words it’s deja vu all over again but worse.

During Trump’s first term he started up with China so they shifted their soybean purchases to Brazil. This destroyed the US farmers soybean market and Trump then had to bail then out with tax payer money to the tune of about 25 billion dollars. Apparently Donald Trump does not learn from his mistakes because the administration has caused the current crisis in farming and is again talking bailouts for farmers.

Interestingly enough most farmers voted for Trump yet a second time. After getting screwed the first time you would think they would have learned their lesson but apparently not. Then again they probably figured they would be bailed out again if necessary. There should be no more bailouts for farmers on the taxpayers dime. Furthermore President Trump’s policies clearly indicate he really does not care about farmers or their livelihood. The bottom line is had the democrats been elected, farmers would not be in this situation in the first place. That’s something farmers should think about at the next election.
